If anyone owns a plantation, crop canopy, even a veggie garden, do you use a weather station or weather device to record valuable data vital to the health of your plants? Like irrigation controllers, ET (evapotranspiration) controllers, greenhouse controllers, growing season forecasters, crop stress, etc. Even a simple home weather station will count. If so please tell my how you have set it up. The reason I ask is, next spring I plan to set up a weather station in my veggie garden, to act as a thermostat/growing season tool. So your input will be very important to me. 10 pts to best reply!

Have a new Sio/Scan weather station model 81690, that does not have the correct pressure, I don,t know how to set it to my area. Would appreciate any help.

I just bought a Davis vantage Vue weather station and while it is being shipped I need to figure out where to mount it. My property is fairly surrounded by trees and I was thinking I may put it on my roof. Is the roof a good spot? Any other tips for picking a location?

A rare quiet moment in the Penn State University Weather Station allowed me to tape a walk-around of the station. In this video includes views of the computer screens, instruments, the old-style paper/clipboard map wall, and extra rooms such as the Collegian room and computers. This is the famous and long-standing home of Penn State’s Campus Weather Service. I took this video because the Weather Station at Walker Building is scheduled to be demolished in Summer of 2008 and so this will be a memento for future generations and for old habitants of 608 Walker to browse.

An early summer thunderstorm this morning is bringing very frequent and intense lightning strikes to Branson, Missouri. The popular tourist spot has been blanketed by numerous severe weather warnings from the National Weather Service since 1am when the storms began to pound the area. So far over 2 inches of rain has fallen at my home weather station since midnight. More thunderstorms, some possibly severe, are expected today throughout the Missouri Ozarks. This video shows how frequently lightning struck very close to my location. It also shows lightning striking a radio tower – that part is played back in slow motion. Notice how the tower’s beacon lights go out after the direct hit. The latter part of the video shows how the lightning flashes were continuous for several minutes.
